Hello World - I am Daniella Giovana Durante!
The newest member of Team Durante arrived into this world on May 22nd. This cute little bundle of joy was so excited to meet her parents, John and Diane Durante, that she decided to surprise them 6 weeks earlier then expected. Talk about making a grand entrance! Mommy and baby Daniella Giovana (Giovana after her grandfather John) are doing excellent as evidenced by the ear-to-ear grin our President John has been wearing everyday since her arrival.
Please join us in congratulating proud parents John and Diane and welcoming their little princess into the world!

ARA Spring Social Event at Yankee Stadium

The American Rental Association (ARA) of New York's annual spring social event was once again a tremendous success. This year's event took place at Yankee Stadium as the Bronx Bombers lost to the Mariners 6-3.
The evening was a great networking event as members from all across the state, some as far as 5 hours away, came to share their industry knowledge and experience. Our very own CEO Anthony Durante, VP of ARA's Board of Directors, was on hand to root for his favorite team and to welcome new and old members alike who were attending their first ARA
 networking event.
"Our local NY events are a great way to meet new people, catch up with old friends, share ideas, take in a great game and most of all mingle with like-minded professionals in the rental business", said Anthony.
Everyone on hand was in agreement that next year they'd love to come back to the stadium and do it all over again. Thanks again to the ARA for all they do for Durante Rentals and all their members in New York and the entire country.

Durante Rentals recently donated 200+ golf towels to the 9th Annual Contractor for Kids Golf Outing held at the Baiting Hollow Golf Club. The golfers absolutely loved them, but more importantly, the outing raised a good deal of money for a great cause. Contractors for Kids mission is to eliminate financial hardship in our communities brought on by the sickness of a child.

Westchester Digital Summit

Durante Rentals was well represented at the 3rd annual Westchester Digital Summit. Our Director of Marketing, Adam Zunic, and IT Manager, Kenneth Tso, joined 350 other like-mined professionals at the Ritz Carlton in Westchester to partcipate in this "Must-Attend Marketing Conference for Leaders in 2014".

"For me, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to mingle with and learn from some of the sharpest minds in the Digital Marketing industry", said Adam Zunic.
On hand to lend their knowledge, ideas and future industry forecasts were such well respected and well recognized names in the digital media industry like: Brett Wein from Facebook, Andrew Goldman from Linkedin, Gabe Goodwin from ESPN, Peter Vlastelica from Fox Sports, Linda Boff from GE, Tessa Gould from the Huffington Post and many more. The highlight of the day was the Keynote address given by none other than Gary Vaynerchuk, CEO of Vayner Media and star of Wine Media Library TV.
"WDS2 was a great experience - to be able to hear from like-minded professionals who look at the present and future of the industry was inspiring. I'm already looking forward to next year", said Kenny Tso.

Section 179 Extension Takes Another Step Forward
|
The US Tax  Code section (179), that our President John Dura nte went to DC to lobby for a few weeks back, has been passed by the House of Representatives. It still has to go to the Senate and then be approved by the President. In the past, Washington has approved this Section 179 with two year extensions (meaning it expires every two years and needs to be renewed). It expired in 2013 and was not renewed. Part of what we fought for was not only for approval but to make it a permanent section of the Tax Code.
Although it still needs to be approved by other parties, it is a great first step and we're proud that Durante played a part in getting this done.This bill allows small businesses like Durante Rentals to invest more money in infrastructure, equipment and staff. Without this approval most small businesses would be facing a much larger tax burden.
Imagine what this would do to small business where instead of growing and investing in their business, and this country, they are forced to downsize just to pay Washington. Read more about Section 179. |

Manhattan "Flying Saw" Incident is Highly Unusual
 While accidents involving circular saw blades failing can happen, it is highly unusual for a blade to become dislodged from its saw and fly off into the air, says one industry expert, referring to such an incident that occurred at a Manhattan job site on May 27.
The 3 foot diameter blade appears to be from a slab saw, or flat saw, which is typically used to cut thick concrete structures and roadways and is tough enough to cut through steel reinforcements...
